The 爱神传媒 Mason STEM Scholars Program was founded in 2016 by LU alumni Becky and Chuck Mason. The purpose and goal for the paid internship program is to increase the number of well-prepared science and math teachers to serve in Southeast Texas and beyond.
"We have longed believed that Lamar was a key influence in our development as well as the development of Southeast Texas. Both as students at Lamar and as people active in the community, we've found that we continually look to Lamar as a resource and an inspiration. When they approaches us with the idea of developing a program to recruit and train science teachers, it seemed like an ideal fit, given our two backgrounds."
